Understanding the Dictates for Others Feature

Overview

First Draft back-end speech recognition models are unique for each Author-Document Type-Dictation Source combination.  By default, when the Author is changed for a job on the InfraWare 360 platform the final Author of record is observed for the First Draft learning process.  If the Author is changed at any point in the workflow for a job this constitutes an Impostor Scenario.  See KB756 for details.  For example, if a resident dictates for an attending physician and the transcriptionist changes the Author in the job properties in the ITC (KB602) to the Attending Physician, the speaker (the resident) would not match the final Author for the job (the attending).  The Dictates for Others option can help in scenarios where an Author set up on the platform often dictates for others and the Author is changed in the job properties observe the original Author of the job for the learning process.

Steps

This option can be set in two places in the IMC:

• First Draft tab ⇒ Authors sub-tab ⇒ Author Details page:
  • Go to the First Draft tab ⇒ Authors sub-tab.
    
  • Click on the name of the Author to load the Author Details page.
    
  • Check the box for the Dictates for Others option.
    
  • Click Save Changes.
    
• Administration ⇒ Users ⇒ Author Settings page:
  • Go to the Administration tab ⇒ Users sub-tab.
    
  • Click the name of the Author.
    
  • Scroll down to the Facility Roles section and click on the Author Settings» link.
    
  • In the Dictation Submission Options check the box next to the Dictates for Others option:
    
  • Click Save Changes.

Notes

• Changing this setting for an Author will not have an immediate impact to an Author's grading or draft output.
• New jobs which enter the platform after this setting is changed and saved will observe this new setting.
