What do the parameters for the MT Productivity Report mean?

Answer / Solution

MT Productivity Report

Basic View

In the Basic View of the MT Productivity Report, the only setting you need to specify is the date range in order to run the report. The report compares transcription production rates, and editing production rates.  Transcription production rates are a weighted average.  See KB735 for details on this data. For a description on how to interpret the MT Productivity Report, see KB495

  • If you select “Click for Author production rates” you will see a comparison of the transcription production rates with the production rates after FD was enabled for all Authors, which have had some First Draft work in the given time period.
  • If you select “Click for MT production rates” you will see a comparison breakdown of Transcription rates, and versus editing rates for all MTs who have done some editing work in the given time period.

Advanced View

The advanced view of the report parameters will give you more options if you need a more fine-tuned picture of what is going on.  The report compares transcription rates with editing rates.

  • Dates: The column “FD lines /hour” will measure editing production rates for all First Draft Jobs between “Editing Start Date” and “Editing End Date”
  • Time Zone: Choose the time zone to be used for the selected Start and End Dates.
  • MT:  The MT setting will let you narrow down the report to hone in on one particular MT, or look at all of them to search for potential issues.
  • Line Counts:  Choose whether you wish to see line counts as calculated using the default Pay Models, or calculated using a 65-character line.
    • Use Pay Model: When this option is selected you can specify which Pay Model you wish to use for First Draft.  The Default Pay Model will be used for Transcription.
      • The FD Pay model specifies how the number of lines is calculated for jobs which went through First Draft. In general, the production rates are calculated by taking (number of lines produced/time ITC was open) – so it is important to specify how the report should calculate the number of lines. At the Professional level, these pay models will also be used to compute the pay rate for MTs when transcribing and editing.
    • Use 65-character line:  When this option is selected lines will be calculated using 65-character lines.
  • Group By/Then By:  Specify how the data is oriented. The “Group by” field will be the column that is to the far left, and will be the highest level of aggregation. The “Then by” column will be the 2nd most from the left, and the 2nd level of aggregation. Whichever object you are most interested in analyzing (Authors, MTs, Doc Types, etc.) should probably be in the “Group by” field.
  • Include Split Jobs:  By default, split jobs (jobs which were duplicated) will be excluded from results.  The “include Split Jobs” checkbox can be used to include jobs which were duplicated/split.
  • Include Dollar Amounts:  The option to "Include dollar amounts" can be checked to include monetary values based on the LPH and pay model selected.  This box is checked by default and can be unchecked to only show LPH data and not monetary values.
