Resetting Text and Background Color in the ITE
Summary
When content is copied from Word or another word processing program and pasted into the InfraWare Template Editor (ITE) any formatting will be applied as well. This can sometimes yield unwanted results. One specific example of this is background formatting. If the background color has been changed in the ITC to something other than white (KB723) they may see a white background to the text as shown in the screenshot below. To fix this an administrator can open the template in the ITE and reset the text and background color. Once this has been done and the template saved to the platform, future jobs will no longer show this white background.
Requirement
- InfraWare Template Editor (ITE) version 6.1.13.2 or newer.
Steps
- Open the template in the ITE v6.1.13.2 or newer (currently ITE Beta).
- Go to the Format menu and choose Reset Text and Background Color.
- Save the template to the platform.
- New jobs with a Document Type using this template will no longer show the white background.
Notes:
- If your Windows background color is using the default (white) you may not see this document background in the ITE because it is the same as your default background. You can still follow the steps above to reset the background color and save the job to the platform.
- If Normals have been created by copying from Word or another word processing program, they can also carry background formatting with them. This would not be fixed by modifying the template as instructed above and would need to be fixed by modifying the Normal itself.
