Account Normals Explained

Overview

Audience: Readers should have a fundamental understanding of Normals.  More information is available in KB78.

Account Normals are available to all users of an Account.  There are four levels of Account Normals in the InfraWare 360 platform.  These levels determine what Normals will be available for use in a job according to the job properties.  This allows account administrators to fine tune what Normals are available to transcriptionists in the ITC.

• Account:  Normals created at the Account level are available to all users of an Account for all jobs, irrespective of the Facility, Author, or Transcriptionist.  No matter what job is open in the ITC, the transcriptionist will have access to all Normals created at this level.   
• Facility:  Normals created at the Facility level are available to all users of an Account for all jobs for the specified Facility only.  For example:  Normals created at the Facility level for Facility A will not be available in a job associated with Facility B. 
• Author:  Normals created at the Author level are available to all users of an Account for all jobs associated with the specified Author, irrespective of Facility.  For example:  If an Author dictates for more than one Facility and would like to use the same Normals for all Facilities, Normals entered at this level would be available for use in any jobs dictated by that Author under any Facility for that Account.  NOTE:  To view Author Normals (when not associated with a facility), select 'Account Level Only' on the Facility dropdown list on the Normals page.
  
• Author and Facility combination:  Normals created at the Author and Facility combination level are available to all users of an Account for all jobs associated with the specified Author for the specified Facility.  If an Author dictates for more than one Facility Normals can be entered at this level if they vary for that Author for different Facilities.  For example:  If Facility A, B, and C require specific verbiage or formatting, Normals entered at this level would only be available for use in jobs for the Facility and Author combination.
