Overview
In order to ensure quick downloads for your MTs and Authors, the recommended file size for a template is less than 100 kilobytes. If a template file size is too large this can slow down communication between the InfraWare Transcription Client (ITC) and the platform due to the large file size. There could also be a more noticeable delay when transferring all completed documents which use that template. Templates which are as small as possible allows those transfers to occur much more quickly. The ITE has an upper limit of 400 kilobytes for the size of templates.
Except in very rare circumstances, images that are in a template will usually be the largest contributor to a template’s size. Reducing the size or density of any images in the template will therefore significantly reduce the size of the template as a whole. KB574 explains how to reduce the resolution of an image already in a template, and KB577 shows how to resize an image. Both of these actions will decrease the amount of space that image takes up. |
