How do I Dictate Punctuation in the IDC?

Answer / Solution

How to Dictate Punctuation

Overview

While recording dictations, you will want to dictate punctuation to achieve proper formatting.  The InfraWare servers recognize many commands for that purpose.  The most common is the "period".  At the end of a sentence, when you want a "." to appear, simply speak the work "period".  The returned text will know to insert the period character at that location and to capitalize the next work for the beginning of a sentence.

Solution

The most commonly used punctuation commands are:

  • Comma
  • Period
  • Paragraph

For more formatting and punctuation commands, please see KB article #6 referenced below.
