How does a transcriptionist's Internet connection affect their work?

Answer / Solution

Transcriptionist Internet Connection Explained

Some customers have heard of other ASP platforms that stream audio to the transcriptionists as they work. In that case, imperfections in the Internet service lead to difficulty. While InfraWare is an ASP, our platform uses a best-of-breed technology to ensure that isn’t the case. We provide a software program called the InfraWare Transcription Client (ITC) that installs on the transcriptionists' computer. Jobs are downloaded to the local computer, and the Internet connection is not generally used during the work.

Some operations, including splitting jobs and applying addendums require an active Internet connection.  When automated job routing is configured, the ITC also downloads new jobs in the background, while the transcriptionist works.  Naturally, the ITC does require the Internet connection to be working well during crucial operations of uploading and downloading jobs.
